" The Green Dragon is an integral, useful and friendly asset to the village. The atmosphere is always welcoming and warm and friendly. The food is of a standard far above the usual "Pub Grub" variety. The menu is collossal and there are many choices for those of a "picky" nature. My favourite is always the Hunters chicken. Although on my only visit on a Sunday lunchtime I chose the Roast Beef. This was exceptional, matched only by my mothers cooking. The locally sourced, home made horse raddish sauce was just brilliant.It was Valentines Day, and the vast menu was further enhanced by Nikki's innovative and inspirational talent to provide just what was required on the occasion. My wife was over the moon with her choice of sweet from the valentines menu. Masterchef take note. This was well worth the cost in presentation alone. I wish we had a camera to record it !! The meal was outstanding and to win two prizes in the weekly meat draw was a bonus. My favourite tipple Waddy's IPA is always first class at the Dragon. Well done Steve and all the team !!!! " I have just returned from The Green Dragon after an exceptional meal with my husband and daughter to celebrate my daughters 7th Birthday. The service was fantastic and the waitress took great interest in us to ensure that our meals were ordered to our liking, and also answered any queries regarding the menu without hesitation. The food was served deliciously hot. I chose steak which was cooked to exactly how i like, my husbands vegetable curry went down without hesitation, which for my husband means it must have been faultless. My daughter enjoyed a superb roast dinner which just smelt divine. The gut busting desserts were to die for and had all 3 of us beat. The home made icecream, was smooth and creamy and we all enjoyed tasting it even though we were splitting at the seams. "We were given a gift box at christmas to go to any participating hotel/inn with evening meal , bed & breakfast, It was a lovely experience apart from the food, we couldn't help comparing it to food at the green dragon,your food is far superior,not once have we had a bad meal, unfortunately the place we stayed at to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary we wouldn't rate the food at all so now I can't wait for Easter Sunday when we will enjoy some real food YOURS ]" -review by Susan Hunt
" Bill and I had yet another scrumptious Sunday lunch at The Green Dragon yesterday ! The beef was absolutely delicious, as was the rest of the meal. I had my usual white chocolate and malteser cheescake for pudding - if anyone reading this hasn't tried this desert yet you don't know what you're missing ! As always the service was good and the wait for our meal minimal, despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty busy ! About a week ago we treated ourselves, on the spur of the moment, to a steak each, and we both said that the steaks were, in all honesty, the best we have ever tasted. We always enjoy our meals at the Green Dragon, but they seem to be getting better and better - if that's possible ! Well done to Nicky and and the rest of the kitchen staff ! " Yet again Nicky and her Staff have excelled ! My husband's cousin and his girlfriend came down for the weekend from Scotland and we treated ourselves to two meals at the Green Dragon. On the Friday night our guests had a steak and a curry, and told us that both meals were of the utmost quality and cooked to perfection. I also had a steak, and as always it was delicious ! We all commented on how gorgeous the homemade coleslaw was - I have this with many of my meals and it really is a must!! Yesterday the four of us had Sunday lunch - two roast beefs and two lamb shanks. As always the roast beef was the best my husband and I have ever tasted, and our family both commented on how delicious the lamb was, saying it was the best Sunday lunch they have ever had ! For pudding I had the white chocolate malteser cheesecake - this has become an addiction for me because it literally melts in the mouth !! However, I shall have to try the Banoffee Pie next time because Caireon said it was the best she has ever had ! We cannot thank you all enough for constantly providing top of the range meals for a very reasonable price, and it was so lovely to hear our guests praising the food so highly. Finally, the young waitress who was on duty yesterday has to have a mention too - she was so polite and friendly and made us feel so welcome. " We have just got home from yet another fabulous meal at The Green Dragon ! My husband and daughter treated me for Mother's Day, and I had the lamb from the special's board, and it was amazing !!! Oh my goodness - if any of you out there haven't tried this, then you don't know what you're missing ! All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the candlelit table provided a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Thank you to Nicky and her staff for yet another 5 star meal !
